MP4 · WebM · MOV · GIF — works best with one moving subject and a mostly still camera.
H.264 MP4 is the most reliable; HEVC/H.265 won't decode in browsers.
01
Feed it a clip
MP4inator studies every frame to learn what the background looks like, then finds what moves against it.
02
Aim the mask
Switch to MASK view — red shows where the glitch will land. Use the Mask controls until red sits only on your subject.
03
Tune, then export
Glitch and Color react live while it plays. Start from a preset, push sliders until it feels right, export a WebM.
MASK view: red = where glitch lands
size18
Paint straight on the video — works with a finger. ADD forces glitch into painted areas, ERASE bans it. Strokes apply to every frame, so aim at things that stay put: a stubborn shadow, flare, an edge the mask keeps missing. Scrub while painting to check your work.

Starting points
One click sets the Glitch + Color banks. Tweak from there — the mask is yours either way.
Mask
Decides where the glitch is allowed to land. Check your aim in MASK view. Changing these rebuilds the mask (a second or two).
Mask settings changed — rebuilding…
How different from the background a pixel must be to count as subject. Lower catches more; higher rejects noise.
Shrinks the mask edge inward. Raise it to kill the halo around your subject.
Expands the mask outward. Raise it if limbs or hair get cut off.
Softens the mask edge so the glitch melts into the scene instead of hard-cutting.
Reject shadow
Ignores the subject's moving shadow — it's dark like the background, just darker.
Invert mask
Flip this if it's targeting the wrong thing — shadow instead of subject, or background instead of figure.
Largest blob only
Track just the biggest moving thing. Turn off to glitch everything that moves.
Glitch
How the subject breaks. Everything here reacts live while the clip plays.
Master volume for all glitch effects.
Splits the color channels apart — classic chromatic ghosting.
Horizontal bands tear sideways, like a tape misreading.
Odds per frame of a violent burst — big shift, big tear, hue jolt.
Pixel sort
Smears the subject's pixels into brightness-ordered streaks.
Color
How the subject changes color while the world keeps its palette.
Continuously rotates the subject's colors around the wheel. 360 = full rainbow every second. 0 = off.
On spike frames, snap to a random color up to this far away. Pairs with Spike chance.
Pushes colors electric. 1 = untouched. Hue effects barely show on washed-out footage without this.
Forces the cycling color into whites and grays — so a white dress joins the show instead of sitting out.
Shifts the whole color treatment around the wheel. Works even with Hue cycle at 0 — a fixed recolor.
Remaps the subject to a two-color print — shadows one color, highlights another, keyed to the hue controls. 1 = full art-print.
Different number = different glitch choreography with the same settings. Reroll until the spikes land right.
Export
Renders every frame with the current settings and downloads a WebM.
